Community AFPA Trust announces BIG Cycle 2026 from London to Amsterdam Published: 19th January 2026 Share The AFPA Trust has officially unveiled plans for The BIG Cycle 2026, taking place 24–28 June, promising the largest organised cycle ride the asset finance industry has ever seen. The four-day event – running from London to Amsterdam – brings together riders of all abilities for a unique blend of physical challenge, European landscapes, and industry-wide camaraderie. Designed to be accessible for both experienced cyclists and first-time long-distance riders, the event offers professional ride leaders and two daily route options, allowing participants to ride at a pace that suits them. Over the three main riding days, cyclists will travel from central London to Harwich, take the overnight ferry to the Netherlands, and then ride through Hoek van Holland and Utrecht before reaching their final destination in Amsterdam. Distances range from 96 km to 128 km each day, with the opening UK leg covering 133 km (83 miles). The finish line in Amsterdam at an historic landmark promises to be a memorable moment for all riders, who cycle together each morning before longer-route participants split off for extended challenges after lunch. The event concludes with a celebratory return to London via Eurostar. Reflecting on last year’s event, Robert Taylor, AFPA Trust Chair, said: “Taking part in The BIG Cycle 2025 was one of the most inspiring experiences of my career. The sense of achievement when you cross the finish line – surrounded by colleagues, friends, and fellow fundraisers – is something I’ll never forget. It shows the very best of what this industry can do when we come together.” Packages and fundraising Participants can choose between two options: Fundraiser Package – £250 entry fee + £1,400 minimum fundraising Self-Funded Package – £250 entry fee + £1,400 payment due by 10 May 2026 Both total £1,650 and include hotel accommodation on a twin-room basis and Eurostar travel home. Optional single-room supplements are available. Riders must arrange personal and bike insurance, and cancellations after 1 May 2026 incur the full cost. AFPA Trust emphasises the charitable impact of the event; in 2025 alone, the organisation supported 42 charities, donating £108,000. Riders who exceed the minimum fundraising amount may – with prior agreement – split excess funds with a charity of their choice.
