Equipment Finance Sponsored by Equipment Finance News AerCap leased, purchased and sold 116 assets in Q2 2025 Published: 7th July 2025 Share AerCap Holdings N.V., the world’s largest aviation leasing company, announced a strong second quarter of 2025, completing 116 leasing, purchase, and sale transactions across its portfolio of aircraft, engines, and helicopters. The company also reported a major legal and financial milestone, having been awarded approximately US$1 billion by the London Commercial Court in relation to aircraft lost in Russia in 2022. During the quarter, AerCap signed 71 lease agreements, including eight widebody aircraft, 32 narrowbodies, 13 engines, and 18 helicopters. It also purchased 11 aircraft, including Airbus A320neo, Boeing 737 MAX, and Embraer E195-E2 models, as well as five engines and five helicopters for its owned portfolio. On the sales side, AerCap completed 24 transactions, involving 14 aircraft (from both its owned and managed portfolios), six engines, and four helicopters. In addition to its core leasing activity, AerCap executed US$2.9 billion in financing transactions, enhancing its financial flexibility. The company also repurchased 4.7 million shares for approximately US$445 million and declared a quarterly dividend of US$0.27 per share. AerCap’s legal victory in London marks a major step forward in its recovery efforts following the loss of aircraft in Russia due to sanctions and geopolitical fallout. The court ruling under the company’s contingent and possessed war risk insurance policy is one of the largest in the aviation industry to date.
