Haydock Finance extends support to Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary

Haydock Finance has continued its charitable partnership with Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary, providing funding for a new hay steamer to support the sanctuary’s equestrian centre.

Bleakholt, based in Greater Manchester, cares for around 200 animals across its 55-acre site, including several horses and ponies. Many of the equine residents require specialised diets due to age, respiratory sensitivities or ongoing medical conditions. The hay steamer will be used to produce dust-free, more easily digestible hay to support their health and welfare.

Karen Weed, Sanctuary Manager at Bleakholt, shared her appreciation for the ongoing partnership “We are incredibly grateful for Haydock Finance’s continued support. The hay steamer is a huge help for our equestrian team and will directly improve the quality of care we can provide to our horses and ponies. As a sanctuary funded entirely by donations, having dependable partners like Haydock truly makes a difference.”

The latest donation follows a year of fundraising activity by Haydock Finance, including staff-led initiatives and seasonal events aimed at supporting animal welfare charities.

Lea Lawrence, marketing manager at Haydock Finance, said the company values its relationship with Bleakholt and is committed to supporting the sanctuary’s work.

“Our relationship with Bleakholt is something we are very proud of. Knowing that our support has helped fund equipment that provides daily, practical benefits to the horses is incredibly rewarding. Bleakholt’s team works tirelessly, and we’re committed to helping them continue their vital mission.”

Bleakholt is funded entirely through donations and relies on external support to maintain and improve facilities for the animals in its care. The sanctuary said the addition of the hay steamer will help ensure consistent and appropriate nutrition for its equine residents.

Haydock Finance said it plans to continue supporting Bleakholt through further fundraising and volunteer activity during the year.
