Europcar partners with Octopus Electroverse to simplify EV charging

Share

Europcar Mobility Group UK has announced a partnership with Octopus Electroverse, Europe’s largest consumer EV public charging network, in a move set to make renting and driving electric vehicles easier than ever.

The collaboration gives Europcar’s EV customers instant access to more than one million public chargers across the UK and Europe, along with real-time route-planning tools and a seamless payment experience.

Through the integration of Octopus’s Electroverse app, available via the Europcar EV Guide, drivers can locate chargers, plan routes, and start charging without juggling multiple apps or accounts. Users also benefit from exclusive discounts, including “Plunge Pricing” – a pricing model offering up to 45% off charging costs when renewable energy supply is high and demand is low.

Sarah Clarke, Senior Consumer Marketing Manager at Europcar Mobility Group UK, said: “This is about making the switch to electric as seamless as possible.

“By giving access to a single charging platform that covers the majority of the UK network, we remove the need for multiple apps and logins. Drivers can plan their journey, find the right charger and manage payments all in one place.”

The partnership also aims to boost charging confidence among first-time EV drivers. Electroverse’s route-planning feature helps reduce range anxiety by displaying available charging points along a journey, while Europcar’s regularly updated EV Knowledge Hub offers renters tips, charging guidance, and explanations of EV incentives.

Matt Davies, Director at Octopus Electroverse, added: “With the EV roll out accelerating at racing speed across the UK, charging on the go should be a breeze.

“Whether you are a long time EV lover or renting an EV for the first time, we want to give every driver the confidence to make the switch. Partnering with Europcar means we can put more people behind the wheel of an EV and show them just how easy going electric can be.”

With over 500 new chargers added daily to Electroverse’s network, including major providers like IONITY, Osprey, and Instavolt, Europcar’s rental customers can enjoy a smarter, greener, and more accessible EV experience than ever before.
