Innovation Sponsored by Innovation Alfa reboots AskThea AI assistant as Thea Chat Published: 17th September 2026 Share Alfa has relaunched its AskThea domain-tuned AI assistant as Thea Chat, with Southeast Toyota Finance among the first customers reporting benefits from the technology. Thea Chat is designed to provide Alfa Systems users with access to platform-specific information and guidance, helping teams address configuration, implementation and integration queries without relying as heavily on specialist support. The AI assistant has been trained around asset finance and Alfa Systems-specific terminology, workflows and knowledge. It connects users with system documentation, configuration guides, integration references, API documentation and reporting structures. The latest release also introduces natural-language SQL generation, allowing users to query Alfa Systems’ Operational Data Store (ODS) structures without requiring specialist database knowledge. Southeast Toyota Finance (SETF), the captive finance provider serving 178 Toyota dealers across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, is using Thea Chat during its implementation of Alfa Systems. SETF said: “Thea Chat has evolved how we approach configuration of our Alfa Systems environment, acting as an instant reference point across both our business and configuration teams. “Instead of waiting on colleagues or digging through documentation, our team gets information and guidance in seconds. It has improved configuration resource onboarding time, improved our implementation, and helped us become more self-sufficient when working with Alfa Systems.” Members of the SETF implementation team added that: “Thea Chat returns answers quickly, provides detailed links to support documentation, and provides strong insights into how the platform works that inform product development and configuration decisions.” Alfa plans to develop Thea Chat further by combining its Alfa Systems documentation with customers’ own configuration and process documentation. This would allow responses to reflect both Alfa’s platform knowledge and an individual organisation’s processes. Thea Chat is the first capability being introduced under Thea, Alfa’s wider family of AI solutions. Brian Murphy, Director, Office of the CTO at Alfa, said: “Regulated industries need more than generic AI. They need intelligence grounded in their business. “With Thea, we’re embedding asset finance expertise directly into day-to-day operations, enabling teams to work faster, automate with confidence and stay fully in control.” Alfa said further Thea capabilities under development include intelligent document processing, third-party connectivity, Model Context Protocol (MCP) support and workflow optimisation, with a focus on automating processes while retaining governance, transparency and control.
