The non-binding agreement will see the two automotive groups examine potential synergies across product and technology development, with the aim of leveraging their complementary strengths to create value for both organisations. The announcement reflects a broader trend across the automotive sector, where manufacturers are increasingly seeking partnerships to help manage rising development costs, accelerate technology deployment and support the transition towards electrification and software-driven vehicles. Antonio Filosa, chief executive officer of Stellantis, said collaboration remained an important part of the group’s strategy. “By working with partners to explore synergies in areas such as product and technology development, we can create meaningful benefits for both sides while remaining focused on delivering the products and experiences our customers love,” he said. PB Balaji, chief executive officer of Jaguar Land Rover, said the agreement could help support JLR’s long-term ambitions in the US market. “As we continue to evolve JLR for the future, collaboration will play an important role in unlocking new opportunities,” he said. “Working with Stellantis allows us to explore complementary capabilities in product and technology development that support our long term growth plans for the US market.” The companies said any future transactions or agreements resulting from the discussions would remain subject to customary conditions, including the execution of definitive binding agreements.
