Casey Group appoints Fleet Operations for EV salsac scheme

The Casey Group has appointed Fleet Operations to deliver an electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme for employees across its construction, property services and environmental services businesses.

The scheme is being delivered through Fleet Operations’ digital SalAd platform and follows a market review by Casey Group as it looked to expand its existing salary sacrifice provision with an additional provider.

Employees will be able to access EVs for a fixed monthly cost incorporating fully comprehensive motor insurance, servicing and maintenance, road tax, replacement tyres, breakdown assistance and accident management, as well as lifestyle protection.

Usman Siddique, Group Finance Manager at the Casey Group, said: “We already had a scheme in place and wanted to add another provider to deliver the lowest price for our employees.

“Salary sacrifice makes electric cars more accessible to a wider group of employees, while encouraging the transition to lower emission models also supports our longer-term commitment to net zero.”

Casey said competitive vehicle pricing, the range of cars available and the protections incorporated into the scheme were important factors in selecting Fleet Operations.

The arrangement includes early termination protection covering circumstances including redundancy, resignation, parental leave and early retirement, helping to reduce the potential financial risk to the employer if an employee’s circumstances change during the agreement.

Siddique added: “A salary sacrifice arrangement needs to work for the business as well as the employee. Fleet Operations offered a competitively priced scheme with safeguards that help reduce the financial risk associated with any unexpected changes in an employee’s circumstances.”

The scheme was introduced through an on-site webinar at Casey Group’s Rochdale head office, with employees also able to participate remotely. The sessions covered how salary sacrifice operates, the financial implications and considerations when choosing an EV.

Employees can subsequently compare the vehicles available to them through a dedicated SalAd driver portal.

Fleet Operations will manage the day-to-day administration of the scheme and provide ongoing support to Casey Group and participating employees.
