Simply Cup 2026 raises £45,121 for Cancer Research UK

Share

Last month, more than 250 professionals from across the asset finance industry came together at Powerleague Battersea for the annual Simply Cup 2026; a day defined by competition, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to making a difference. With Cancer Research UK (CRUK) at the heart of the event, the industry united both on and off the pitch to support a cause that touches countless lives.

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity and collective efforts of everyone involved – from teams and sponsors to supporters and donors – the final fundraising total has now been confirmed at an incredible £45,121.

After months of fundraising activity in the lead-up to the tournament and on the day itself, this figure represents the highest amount ever raised by the Simply Cup, marking a landmark moment in the event’s history.

A community effort

The Simply Cup has grown into far more than a football tournament. It has become a powerful demonstration of what can be achieved when an industry comes together with a shared purpose. The 2026 event brought colleagues, partners, and competitors side by side in a spirit of collaboration, inclusion, and compassion, all in support of CRUK’s vital work in funding life-saving research.

None of this would have been possible without the support of the tournament’s sponsors: Acquis, VIP Apps Consulting Limited, Lendscape, HH Business Finance, LGB & Co. Limited, Cynergy Business Finance, Arkle Finance Ltd, Haydock Finance Ltd, Novuna Business Finance, Paragon Banking Group PLC, and Metro Bank (UK).

Their backing, alongside the commitment of every team and individual who played, donated, or cheered from the sidelines, helped drive the Simply Cup 2026 to this record-breaking total.

Celebrating success on and off the pitch

This year’s tournament saw LGB & Co. Limited crowned Simply Cup champions, with WSC Finance Ltd taking the top spot in the inaugural Giving League.

While trophies were lifted on the day, the greatest victory was the collective impact made for Cancer Research UK.

Reflecting on the achievement, Mike Randall, CEO of Simply Asset Finance, said: “The Simply Cup grows bigger each year, as does the generosity of everyone who supports it.

“Congratulations again to our tournament winners, LGB & Co. Limited, and our Giving League winners, WSC Finance Ltd. £45,121 is the most ever raised from this event, so a massive thank you to everyone who showed their support. We can all be proud of what we’ve achieved together.”

Looking ahead, planning is already underway for next year’s Simply Cup, with even more opportunities for teams and partners to get involved and make an impact. The Giving League will return, giving participants another chance to fundraise competitively for Cancer Research UK, while event sponsorship opportunities will once again be available for businesses keen to support the tournament and its cause. The ever-popular raffle and crossbar challenge will also be back, offering more fun on the day and additional ways to raise vital funds.

With momentum continuing to build year on year, the Simply Cup is set to go from strength to strength. For more information, contact Lucia Sanchez on Lucia.Sanchez@simply.finance.
