NACFB backs Sam West Foundation as charity partner for 2026/27

The National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB) has named The Sam West Foundation as its official charity partner for 2026/27, committing to raise £30,000 while supporting awareness of mental health challenges affecting young people and their families.

Founded in 2018 by Sam’s parents, Chris and Michelle, the charity was established in memory of their son, who died aged 15 following a short period of clinical depression. Since then, the foundation has focused on improving awareness, diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues among children and young people, alongside promoting education in music and the arts.

The NACFB said the partnership reflects both a personal connection and a desire to maximise impact. The charity was recommended by a team member who attended school with Sam and witnessed the effect of his loss on the community.

Sam’s parents, Chris and Michelle, welcomed the partnership, saying: “The Sam West Foundation is deeply grateful to have been selected as the charity partner of the NACFB this year. We hope this will enable us to continue our work to promote awareness, diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues affecting children, young adults and their families, and to explore ways to support the NACFB community.”

The foundation has already demonstrated significant impact through targeted funding. Initiatives include training school staff as mental health first aid instructors, enabling hundreds of teachers and students to better identify and support those in need. It has also funded counselling programmes in schools, delivering one-to-one support for children, drop-in sessions, and guidance for parents.

A series of fundraising activities will take place across the NACFB’s key events in 2026, including its Commercial Finance Expo, Summer Party, and annual awards ceremonies. Members, patrons and partners are also being encouraged to organise their own initiatives in support of the charity.

The NACFB community has raised more than £160,000 for charitable causes over the past seven years, backing organisations such as The Unbeatable Eva Foundation, Air Ambulances UK, The Newman Holiday Trust and Young Lives vs Cancer.
