Fleet Finance Sponsored by Fleet Finance News Licence Check surpasses 1.5m licence checks and 1m drivers on DAVIS platform Published: 3rd March 2026 Share Licence Check has reached two major milestones, with its DAVIS risk management platform carrying out 1.5 million licence checks in a single year for the first time and the number of drivers on the system exceeding one million. The Derby-based business, part of the Fleet Solutions division of Ebbon Group, confirmed it conducted 1.5 million licence checks between January and December last year via DAVIS (Driver and Vehicle Information Solution), according to figures from the DVLA. It marks the third consecutive year the company has exceeded one million annual checks. At the same time, the number of drivers managed on the platform passed the one million mark for the first time, while the business customer base grew to more than 4,500 organisations. Managing Director Keith Allen said the achievements underline the platform’s growing adoption across UK fleets. “To have over one million drivers on DAVIS is fantastic news and to reach 1.5 million licence checks – the third year in a row we’ve beaten the one million mark – speaks volumes for the ease-of-use of the platform, its effectiveness and the hard work of our team,” he said. Further growth is expected in 2026 as DriverCheck, Licence Check’s sister company, continues migrating its customers, drivers and vehicles onto the DAVIS platform. Allen said the combined business is forecasting around 5,500 business customers and more than 1.5 million drivers within the next 18 months, with annual licence checks projected to reach approximately 2.2 million. Alongside its core licence checking service, Licence Check is continuing to expand the functionality of its wider DAVIS ecosystem. The company’s analytical fleet management solution, DAVIS Fleet, now manages nearly 10,000 vehicles and provides reporting and data insights for fleet operators. Meanwhile, its DAVIS Coaching service delivers interactive, app-based educational content designed to support safer driving behaviour. Allen said continued product development across DAVIS and DAVIS Fleet is planned throughout 2026, including additional features for the driver app. “We continually developed DAVIS Fleet last year with a host of new features and there is a string of exciting new developments scheduled for this year, including further functionality for the driver app. “We believe these factors, when taken together, will help further fuel the continuous growth of the business,” added Allen.
