Sponsored by Market Data Europe’s leasing map: established leaders and greater visibility in the east Published: 26th October 2026 Share France remains at the centre of European asset finance, while the latest Asset Finance Europe 50 Report brings greater visibility to established leasing businesses in Central and Eastern Europe. French-headquartered groups account for approximately 40% of AFE50 receivables, with five represented among the top ten providers. Germany remains second by parent-company headquarters. This geographical analysis concerns where leasing groups are headquartered, rather than where all their customers or financed assets are located. It offers insight into the ownership and structure of Europe’s largest providers. The 2026 edition also includes OTP Group and MBH Bank (Euroleasing) for the first time, following the availability of new information. An accompanying feature, “Europe’s leasing map shifts east”, explores Hungary and Poland through insights from László Kőszegi, Secretary General of the Hungarian Leasing Association, and Tomasz Sudaj, independent board adviser and leasing market expert. Poland’s position as Europe’s fifth-largest leasing market illustrates the scale of the region. Hungary offers a different perspective on consolidation, vendor relationships and opportunities to widen SME access to leasing. Published by Finance Connect in association with Asset Finance Policy and sponsored by Alfa, the report connects the rankings with the markets behind them.
