Fleet Finance Sponsored by Fleet Finance Appointments Annie Pin to succeed Alain van Groenendael as Arval CEO Published: 6th October 2026 Share Arval has announced a leadership transition that will see Annie Pin become Chief Executive Officer from 1 April 2027, succeeding Alain van Groenendael. Pin will join Arval on 26 October 2026 as Senior Advisor to the CEO before taking over the top role next April. Van Groenendael, who has led Arval since January 2019, will become Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors on the same date. Over the coming months, Pin and van Groenendael will work together with teams across Arval and Athlon as the business prepares for its next phase of growth following the recent acquisition of Athlon. As CEO, Pin will report to Thierry Laborde, Chief Operating Officer of BNP Paribas, in charge of Commercial, Personal Banking & Services (CPBS). Laborde said: “Alain has played a key role in strengthening Arval’s position in the mobility sector. He brought teams together and drove the strategic initiatives that have enabled Arval to anticipate and embrace the profound changes reshaping mobility. “With the recent acquisition of Athlon, Arval is starting a new chapter of its history, becoming the European co-leader in long-term vehicle leasing. “I am delighted that Annie will bring more than 20 years of international leadership experience in mobility and financial services – an invaluable asset as we accelerate Arval’s next phase of development.” Pin brings more than 20 years of mobility experience Pin began her career in 2004 at Société Générale’s General Inspection before joining ALD Automotive, where she held a number of senior roles across the Nordic region, including Regional Risk Director and Managing Director for Norway. She subsequently became Group Chief Commercial Officer at Ayvens and a member of its Executive Committee, with responsibility for Commercial, Marketing and Communications and First Line of Defence activities. In the role, Pin led an organisation of more than 4,000 professionals across over 40 countries and played a role in the transformation and integration of ALD and LeasePlan. Her experience also includes the electrification of corporate fleets and development of new mobility solutions. She is a co-founder and board member of Inspiring Women in Fleet (IWIF). Alain van Groenendael has served as Arval CEO since January 2019. Before joining Arval, he held several senior positions at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, including Deputy CEO and Chairman. His previous roles also include President of Eurofinas and Chairman of Opel Vauxhall Finance, alongside positions within BNP Paribas Group and the French Association of Financial Companies.
