Webfleet and Mobito expand connected vehicle data partnership

Webfleet has expanded its partnership with connected vehicle data intelligence platform Mobito to make selected vehicle datasets more accessible to organisations developing mobility, transport and infrastructure solutions.

Under the agreement, Mobito will become a commercial partner and exclusive reseller for selected Webfleet connected vehicle datasets, extending the use of Webfleet’s fleet intelligence beyond traditional fleet management applications.

Mobito aggregates and transforms vehicle data for use by businesses, cities, road authorities, infrastructure operators and technology providers.

The expanded partnership will give these organisations access to data that can support transport and traffic analysis, urban planning, mapping and road condition monitoring.

Webfleet, Bridgestone’s fleet management solution, said the partnership is intended to make connected vehicle information easier to integrate into mobility applications and support wider data-driven innovation.

Jan-Maarten de Vries, President of Fleet Management Solutions at Bridgestone, said: “Connected vehicle data has the potential to provide valuable insights beyond the individual fleet, helping organisations better understand how transport networks are being used.

“Mobito brings specialist expertise in applying mobility data to real-world challenges, helping organisations make more informed mobility decisions.”

The companies also see opportunities to combine Webfleet data with other mobility datasets to generate additional insights into areas including electric vehicle performance, road safety and strategic delivery corridors.

George Cambanis, CEO and co-founder of Mobito, said: “Through this expanded relationship, we can leverage the high-quality data from Webfleet across a growing range of enterprise and public-sector location intelligence applications.

“Our ambition is not only to make the data more accessible, but to embed it more deeply into customer workflows and combine it with other mobility datasets. This way we can generate new intelligence around areas such as EV performance, road safety and strategic delivery corridors.”

Webfleet said the datasets shared through the partnership will be aggregated and anonymised in line with applicable data protection requirements, with measures in place to prevent individual drivers, vehicles or fleet customers from being identified.

Services for existing Webfleet Data Solutions customers will continue during the transition. Webfleet will continue to provide the underlying datasets and support their delivery, while account management and commercial relationships will progressively move to Mobito.
