Appointments Sponsored by Corporate Member Appointments UTB Asset Finance strengthens credit, operations and payouts teams Published: 3rd March 2026 Share United Trust Bank (UTB) Asset Finance has expanded its credit, operations and payouts functions with four new hires as the business continues to scale volumes and enhance service delivery to brokers. The appointments span underwriting, KYC and payouts, supporting the bank’s ongoing focus on improving speed of decision-making and operational efficiency. Two new underwriters Umar Butt has joined UTB from Groupe BPCE, where he was Team Leader in Flow Underwriting. With 10 years’ experience across SME and consumer finance, Umar brings sector expertise spanning agricultural, transport, industrial and construction finance. UTB said he is already contributing to the bank’s agricultural proposition and reconnecting with brokers through trade shows and industry events. Tharun Rajagi, also joining from Groupe BPCE, moved to UTB in January. Previously a Risk Manager, Tharun has joined the flow underwriting team with a particular focus on developing the bank’s high-value car finance offering. Strengthening KYC and compliance Grant Watkins has joined the Asset Finance KYC team, bringing more than three years’ experience in financial crime prevention. Specialising in AML investigations, KYC reviews and quality control, Grant previously worked with FDM Group and KPMG. UTB said his expertise is proving valuable as new business enquiries continue to rise. Supporting prompt payouts Jessica Womack completes the quartet of hires, joining the payouts team from Groupe BPCE. With prior experience at HTB and Renaissance Asset Finance, Jessica has already made a strong impact, securing her mandate within her first month at the bank.
