Tower Leasing acquires Media Lease to boost media finance offering

Tower Leasing has acquired Media Lease in a strategic move to strengthen its presence in the media, broadcast and live production sectors. The transaction, completed on 2 April 2026, marks a significant step in Tower Leasing’s continued growth and sector diversification.

Media Lease, based in Northamptonshire, brings more than 20 years of experience delivering tailored funding solutions across the media landscape, including production, post-production, broadcast, cinemas and live entertainment. The business has built a strong reputation for financing specialist equipment such as outside broadcast trucks, cameras, editing and VFX systems, and live event AV production technology.

The two firms have a long-standing relationship, with Media Lease previously introducing business to Tower Leasing as a funding partner. The acquisition formalises this partnership, creating closer alignment and unlocking new opportunities for growth.

For Tower Leasing, the deal enhances its exposure to specialist media sectors while strengthening its own-book lending capabilities. It also builds on Media Lease’s established vendor relationships and deep industry expertise.

Customers and vendor partners are expected to benefit from faster decision-making, enhanced underwriting and access to a wider range of funding solutions. The integration will also provide access to Tower Leasing’s partner portal, Tower Extra, improving speed and transparency across transactions.

Media Lease will continue to operate under its existing brand, with its current leadership team remaining in place.

Commenting on the acquisition, Kerry Howells, CEO of Tower Leasing, said the deal represents “a natural next step” in the relationship between the two businesses, adding that Media Lease’s expertise and customer relationships “complement our own capabilities exceptionally well.”
