Appointments Sponsored by Appointments Tandem appoints David Shrimpton Davis as MD of Motor Finance Published: 11th August 2025 Share Tandem Bank has announced the appointment of David Shrimpton Davis as Managing Director of its Motor Finance division. Shrimpton Davis, a seasoned financial services leader, brings more than three decades of experience in motor finance, operations, and customer service. He most recently led Moneybarn, the motor finance arm of Vanquis Banking Group, and has held senior operational and customer-focused roles at Citigroup. A strong advocate for diversity and inclusion – named among LGBT’s Top 50 Gamechangers in 2023 – Shrimpton Davis’s appointment reflects Tandem’s commitment to building an inclusive culture alongside its growth ambitions. Under the leadership of CEO Neil Chandler, Tandem has set a strategic course for profitable growth, with motor finance at the heart of its plans. Since relaunching in 2022, the division’s lending book has grown from £18.2 million to over £224 million, helping consumers access more affordable, lower-emission vehicles in line with the UK’s 2030 phase-out of new petrol and diesel cars. “The UK has a significant task ahead as it looks to reduce emissions – with domestic transport accounting for 28%,” said Shrimpton Davis. “The challenge remains significant, with EVs remaining a small proportion of the market. But offering lower-emission vehicles is also a positive step. This brings a huge opportunity as more and more consumers look to reduce emissions. “Tandem, with its award-winning proposition and superb growth, can take advantage – helping many reduce emissions and save money along the way. I can’t wait to get started!” Neil Chandler, CEO of Tandem, welcomed the appointment: “It’s great to have David onboard – he brings a wealth of experience and will help the business in ensuring the motor finance proposition lives up to its potential.” The announcement comes as the Climate Change Committee reaffirms support for the government’s 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel cars, underlining the growing market opportunity for electric and lower-emission vehicles.
