ECB appoints Boris Kisselevsky as Director General Secretariat

Kisselevsky, who currently serves as Head of the ECB Representative Office in the House of the Euro in Brussels, will be responsible for the strategic direction of the Directorate General Secretariat and the management of staff across its three divisions.

In his new role, he will also represent the ECB on a range of internal and external committees and at senior-level forums. He succeeds Petra Senkovic, who is taking up the position of Director General Legal Services.

Kisselevsky has led the ECB’s Brussels representative office since 2017, where he has maintained key relationships with European Union institutions, advised ECB policymakers on political and regulatory developments, and supported members of the ECB’s Executive Board and Supervisory Board during official engagements in Brussels.

A French national, Kisselevsky joined the ECB in 1998 as an economist. During his career, he has undertaken secondments to both the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Central Bank of Russia, while also holding a number of senior management positions in international and media relations.

His previous roles include Deputy Head of the ECB’s Press and Information Division and the Outreach Division. He also spent three years as Financial Counsellor at the French Treasury before returning to the ECB. Prior to joining the central bank, he worked as an economist at the Banque de France.

Kisselevsky holds master’s degrees in law from Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, economics from Sciences Po and business administration from ESSEC Business School.

The ECB said the Directorate General Secretariat plays a central role in supporting decision-making, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing, and ensuring effective governance and administration across the institution.
