Stance Asset Finance appoints Cherrice Baffana as Broker Manager

Stance Asset Finance, the new asset finance brand from United Trust Bank (UTB), has appointed Cherrice Baffana as Broker Manager as the business prepares for its February launch to Founders Club members.

Her appointment follows that of Alex Fowler, who joined as Broker Development Manager in December 2024, as Stance continues to build its specialist team.

Baffana joins Stance Asset Finance after eight years at Metro Bank, where she spent the past four years in Business Development Support within the bank’s Asset Finance division. In her new role, she will work closely with brokers and relationship managers to support the rollout of the Stance proposition, drive new business growth and help establish long-term partnerships across the market.

Stance Asset Finance aims to offer brokers an alternative that, in the company’s words, encourages them to “unfollow the crowd.” While leveraging UTB’s operational infrastructure and technology, Stance will operate with its own dedicated Sales BDM and Underwriting teams. The proposition is designed to support brokers whose customers may sit just outside UTB’s traditional credit criteria, offering competitive funding and refinance solutions for a wide range of hard assets across multiple sectors.

Nathan Mollett, Head of Stance Asset Finance, said: “Cherrice has joined us at a very exciting time as we make the final preparations for launching Stance Asset Finance to our Founders Club members ahead of a full roll-out in Q2.

“Cherrice brings excellent experience and great broker relationships, both of which will help us quickly establish Stance’s position in the marketplace, working with Alex Fowler and the other new hires we have in progress.

“We’ve had a fantastic response to Stance’s impending arrival and we continue to recruit skilled sales and underwriting professionals who will help Stance to shake up the asset finance market.”

Commenting on her appointment, Baffana added: “There’s a real buzz about Stance Asset Finance and I’m looking forward to working with the team to ensure a successful Founders Club launch and making sure we’re off to a fantastic start when we open our doors to the rest of the market.”

Stance Asset Finance is expected to unveil its full market proposition in Q2 following its initial Founders Club rollout next month.
