The EV fleet payments platform has launched its “Gold Card”, an intelligent multi-network charging solution that combines discounted rates with cost-visibility tools, offering what the company claims is the widest public charging savings programme in the UK. The Gold Card integrates access across four major public charging networks: Sainsbury’s Smart Charge, Ionity, BP Pulse, and Be.EV. Fleet operators using the service can access rapid and ultra-rapid charging at 59p/kWh and fast charging at 49p/kWh. According to Rightcharge, this represents savings of up to 35% compared to standard pay-as-you-go (PAYG) rates on the same networks. Unlike traditional memberships tied to a single provider, the Gold Card offers multi-network coverage across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, significantly expanding access for fleet drivers. Simplifying fleet charging operations The product is designed not just to reduce costs, but to simplify the day-to-day experience of EV charging for both drivers and fleet managers. By combining payment, pricing visibility and network access into a single platform, Rightcharge aims to eliminate the need for multiple apps and reduce what it describes as “decision fatigue” – the complexity drivers face when comparing tariffs and locations in real time. The Gold Card builds on the existing Rightcharge Standard Card, which already provides access to a majority of the UK’s public charging infrastructure, alongside home charging reimbursement tools. Charlie Cook, CEO of Rightcharge, said the new offering addresses two critical challenges in fleet electrification: “Public charging costs and complexity are two of the biggest obstacles to fleet electrification. With the Gold Card, we’ve built something that addresses both. It’s the first platform to combine multi-network access with transparent cost visibility for fleets; giving drivers the simplicity they need to make confident charging decisions, while delivering savings of up to 35% compared to standard PAYG rates. It’s the closest thing to making EV charging as straightforward as filling up at a petrol station.” Pilot programme with The AA The Gold Card has been piloted with The AA, with early feedback from drivers highlighting both ease of use and improved access to charging locations. Sam Biggs, Roadside Fleet Manager at The AA, said: “Reducing the cost of public charging is one of the biggest opportunities we have to accelerate electrification across our fleet. What’s been particularly encouraging is how easily our drivers have taken to it; payment takes seconds and the charger locations work well for our drivers.” Drivers involved in the pilot also reported strong coverage, citing the availability and convenience of charging points. The Gold Card is available as a bolt-on subscription to the Rightcharge Standard Card, and is currently in beta launch, with fleets able to access a 30-day trial. Rightcharge says early adopters will help shape future platform development. Future updates to the platform are expected to include enhanced analytics dashboards and automated savings reporting, giving fleet managers deeper insight into charging behaviour and cost optimisation.
