Hexa Finance has announced a strategic restructure of its commercial team alongside a new senior appointment as the company continues its rapid growth.

Effective 1st September, Daniel Barton has transitioned from his role as Head of Invoice Finance to become Head of Direct, where he will lead Hexa’s direct customer channel. Barton will work closely with Adrian Monger, who continues to oversee the company’s indirect (supplier) channel, ensuring both areas develop in tandem to support more businesses across the UK.

In addition, Hexa has appointed Phil Smith as Senior Growth Advisor. Smith brings extensive experience in business finance and a proven track record in building and leading commercial teams. In his new role, he will focus on strengthening customer relationships while driving growth opportunities across Wales, particularly north of the M4 corridor.

Speaking about his appointment, Smith said: “Hexa already has a strong presence in Wales and a great track record of supporting businesses directly. I’m looking forward to building on that momentum, working closely with Dan and the team, and helping even more companies access the right finance to achieve their goals.”

Stu Mason, Commercial Director at Hexa Finance, said the changes mark a significant step in the company’s growth strategy:

“Dan has already shown huge energy and persistence in building our direct channel, so moving into this role is a natural next step. With his experience, he knows how to get the right results for businesses quickly and efficiently.

“Phil also brings a strong track record of building and leading successful teams, and his appointment adds further depth to the support we can offer. Having him on the ground in Wales means we can spend even more time with business owners, understanding their needs and finding the right finance solutions to help them grow.

“Our direct and indirect channels go hand in hand: the stronger each becomes, the more opportunities we have to deliver for customers. This structure gives us a solid platform to keep scaling while staying true to what matters most — helping businesses access finance with confidence.”
