Head of Stocking – South East England

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a well-established provider of vendor and equipment finance, supporting dealers and manufacturers across the Technology, Transport, Construction, Industrial, Medical, Public Sector and Agricultural markets. Part of a major banking group, the business is growing its UK presence and is now looking for an experienced Head of Stocking to lead this critical function.

THE ROLE

As Head of Stocking, you will lead and develop the Stocking team while continuously optimising operational systems and processes. You will design and execute a strategy to support the business’s ambitious growth plans, aligning stocking products with existing dealers and manufacturers across the Hard Asset classes, while identifying and developing new sectors that meet the business’s risk appetite and profitability requirements.

You will have 3 direct reports, with overall management responsibility for a team of 6, and will sit as a member of the Senior Management Group.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Day-to-day management of the stocking system, including building new schemes and users as required
• Providing strong leadership and operational management, setting KPIs, SLAs and delivery targets that meet stakeholder expectations
• Coaching and directing the team to deliver a high level of customer excellence
• Collaborating with the Heads the various asset divisions to ensure scheme information flows effectively from Sales to Stocking for new and existing dealer/manufacturer relationships
• Communicating clearly with local sales teams on dealer stocking progress, utilisation and performance
• Liaising directly with manufacturers and dealers where required, and providing training to local sales on dealer systems
• Managing the process of obtaining, checking and approving manufacturer/dealer invoices and self-billers
• Overseeing the central audit process, engaging external third parties for asset inspections and verification as appropriate
• Reporting monthly performance data to senior UK management and working closely with Collections when required
• Contributing to the development of the stocking system at a UK and pan-European level

ABOUT YOU:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Stocking role within the leasing/asset finance industry
• Proven experience managing and developing a team, with strong leadership and motivational skills
• Direct exposure to dealers and manufacturers, with excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
• Solid knowledge of finance products (HP, Loan, Lease) and different asset types
• Articulate and persuasive written and oral communication
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
• Confident with core IT systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to quickly learn new platforms
• A collaborative team player who also thrives working independently
