Funding Circle appoints Tim Trailor as Managing Director, Cards

Trailor brings more than two decades of experience in fintech leadership, credit risk, and lending product development. In his new role, he will lead the growth and innovation of Funding Circle’s credit card solutions, a key area of focus as demand for flexible SME financing continues to rise.

He joins Funding Circle from Envisso, where he served as Chief Risk Officer. During his tenure, he played a central role in scaling the business through multiple funding rounds while overseeing risk, data science, and AI functions.

Prior to that, Trailor was Chief Risk Officer at Capital on Tap, helping drive international expansion and profitability. His earlier experience includes senior leadership roles at Monzo Bank, where he launched and scaled lending products to a portfolio exceeding £150 million, and at Klarna, where he contributed to establishing the company’s UK presence and led global fraud prevention initiatives.

Trailor began his career at major financial institutions including Capital One, Barclays, and HBOS PLC, focusing on scaling card and loan portfolios.
