These deals mark a major step forward in the company’s ambitious growth strategy for its European AV operations. The acquisition of Dublin-based ISSAV complements Econocom’s earlier 2025 purchase of Smartcomm, an established AV integrator with a strong UK footprint. Together, the two firms bring over 55 AV specialists to Econocom’s regional workforce, reinforcing its local delivery capabilities and strengthening its position in complex, end-to-end AV integration projects across the education, public-sector, and corporate landscapes. With these acquisitions, Econocom’s UK and Ireland AV division joins a growing portfolio of AV integration businesses across Europe, including recent additions in Spain and Germany, forming part of a wider €300 million European AV operation. This expansion supports Econocom’s goal of providing global capability with local service, ensuring high-quality AV consultancy, design, installation, integration, maintenance, and support across all sectors. “Smartcomm and ISSAV are both trusted AV integrators with strong track records in their respective markets,” said Israel Garcia, Country Manager UK and Managing Director of Business Development & Strategic Plan at Econocom Group. “What unites them, and makes them such a strong fit for Econocom, is a shared commitment to delivering complete, integrated AV and IT solutions to customers.” Smartcomm, now fully integrated into the Econocom Group, is known for delivering large-scale AV projects in corporate headquarters, universities, and public-sector estates. It will continue operating under the Econocom brand while maintaining its high standards and established customer relationships. Meanwhile, ISSAV, a leading Irish AV integrator with over 30 years of experience and a client base of more than 150 organisations, joins Econocom through a majority stake acquisition (67%), with the founding owners retaining a 33% share. The move enables ISSAV to grow beyond its domestic market while maintaining its core values and service excellence. “This marks an exciting new chapter for ISS AV,” said Brendan Nourse, Director of ISS AV. “Joining Econocom allows us to expand our capabilities throughout Ireland and into Europe while continuing to deliver the same high-quality AV solutions our clients rely on. It also opens the door to new opportunities across Europe, giving us access to a broader network, greater resources, and a wider client base.” Steven Worrell, Director of Econocom’s AV Division, added: “Becoming part of Econocom has enabled us to align with a wider European vision while continuing to serve our clients with the same focus and dedication. “With the backing of a strong, international group, we can now scale our solutions and bring even greater value to customers across the UK and Ireland.” These acquisitions form part of Econocom’s €225 million Schuldschein-backed investment programme, aimed at consolidating fragmented AV markets, diversifying sector reach, and accelerating its One Econocom transformation plan.
