The engagement, which begins in March, will run over a four-month period. Delegates will be able to apply their learning directly within their day-to-day roles, with the programme designed to embed new skills and knowledge into live working environments rather than treating training as a one-off intervention. Cambridge & Counties has opted for a fully bespoke pathway that combines product knowledge, core credit skills, intermediate credit skills and sales techniques. The programme has been specifically tailored to reflect the bank’s internal processes and credit approach, ensuring that training content aligns closely with the practical realities faced by its Asset Finance team. A spokesperson for Cambridge & Counties Bank said: “We chose to work with the Finance Education Centre because they were able to offer precisely what we needed, best-in-class, highly specialised training that could be put together in a way that supports our employees regardless of their existing level of knowledge or experience.” The structured format allows colleagues at different stages of their careers to develop consistently, while creating a shared understanding of credit quality, product application and commercial decision-making across the team. Speaking on behalf of the Finance Education Centre, Yusuf Laher, National Training Manager, welcomed the partnership. “I am so pleased to be working with Cambridge & Counties on this important training engagement. Bespoke courses are a particular strength for us, and we’re able to deliver them because of the expert knowledge and extensive real-world experience of our trainers.” With asset and commercial finance teams operating in increasingly competitive and complex markets, tailored training programmes are becoming a key differentiator. Lenders are placing greater emphasis on strengthening credit assessment, enhancing broker and customer conversations, and ensuring sustainable portfolio growth. The Finance Education Centre works closely with funders and broker businesses to design structured training solutions that reflect real-world challenges and deliver measurable impact.
