Broker Manager – Hard Asset Finance – Scotland – 2999

Salary range up to £85,000 with bonus OTE of up to 30% of salary plus generous car allowance and all usual large company benefits.

Our client, a leading asset financier for whom we have recruited for over 15 years placing staff as brokers managers but also in credit and collections leadership roles are seeking to hire a Broker Manager to further develop their business in Scotland.

The role replaces a high performer who built up the sales area to very well performing one but also one with significant further potential.

Our client is focused on providing finance for a wide range of hard assets including HGVs, bus & coach and also prestige and classic cars They provide not only financing for new assets but also refinance (sale and leaseback etc.)  

We are seeking a Broker Manager who can both drive-up volumes from existing brokers but also identify, prospect and win new brokers.

Targets are very achievable; we will be happy to discuss these with suitably qualified applicants.

Candidate Profile

To apply you must live in Scotland and preferably be located in the central belt with good access to Edinburgh and Glasgow but be willing to travel nationally across Scotland.

Our preferred applicant is and existing experienced and broker manager who has contacts with brokers and a demonstrable record of success, for applicants with this background the salary range extends to £85,000.

However, we will consider application from those with strong business to business asset finance sales backgrounds who are not today holding broker manager roles but have the skills and experience to transition into a broker manager position. Those with this type of background would be offered a lower starting salary more typically £60,000 to £65,000.

Whatever your exact experience you will need to be a self-starter, be resilient, be self-managing and possess a wide range of skills from being able to win new brokers operating at C level with brokers to working with sales staff at brokers to encourage them to give their deals to you first.

From time to time on larger and or more complex transactions you may need to meet customers with your brokers and as such you need to possess the gravitas & presence to be credible at C level with prospects.

You will also work with a wide variety of staff internally across credit, operations, collections etc so need to both a good communicator and a team player.

It’s a given that you will have a developed knowledge of all mainstream asset finance products and also possess sufficiently developed credit appraisal skills to know a viable deal from an initially non-viable one, but have the skills to know how, working with credit and your brokers, to reshape a marginal transaction to make it viable.
