Held on 4 March, the event brought together industry professionals and supporters to champion women’s confidence, community and connection, while also raising vital funds for young people living with and beyond cancer. The total raised marks a significant contribution to Teens Unite’s ongoing work supporting teenagers and young adults facing the challenges of cancer diagnosis and recovery. Roxanne Lawrance, CEO of Teens Unite Fighting Cancer, welcomed the fundraising success and highlighted its impact: “Teens Unite were absolutely delighted to be supported by the AFPA Trust and all attendees of their International Women’s Day event, raising an incredible £11,200. This generosity will have a direct and meaningful impact on the teenagers and young adults Teens Unite support who are living with and beyond cancer.” She added that the funds will help expand the charity’s reach and services: “This contribution will enable us to reach even more young people and provide the tailored programmes they need to rebuild friendships, restore mental and emotional wellbeing, regain physical strength, and re-engage with education or employment. We really value this partnership and the positive impact it enables – together, we are truly transforming the lives of young people living with cancer.” The AFPA Trust also praised the collaboration and the generosity of attendees. Julie Warren, Vice Chair of the Trust, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Teens Unite Fighting Cancer for joining us to support such a meaningful cause at this year’s AFPA Trust International Women’s Day Celebration Lunch. It was a privilege to partner with such a dedicated organisation and to help raise vital funds at the event.” She continued: “We’d like to thank Roxanne Lawrance and the entire Teens Unite team for their collaboration, and for joining us on the day. We are very proud to have played a part in supporting the incredible work they do for young people living with and beyond cancer and the total amount raised at £11,200 was absolutely fantastic. Massive thanks to everyone who attended the event and helped us achieve such a fabulous total.” The success of the lunch not only celebrated International Women’s Day but also demonstrated the power of community-driven fundraising, with organisers and supporters united in their commitment to making a lasting difference in the lives of young people affected by cancer.
