Community Coach Core announces Pickleball Cup and Sports Day for 2027 Published: 4th November 2026 Share The Coach Core Foundation has announced two fundraising events for 2027, inviting businesses across the finance industry to take part in its new Pickleball Cup and annual Sports Day while supporting young people facing barriers to employment. The charity’s inaugural Pickleball Cup will take place on Thursday 18 March 2027 at Score Leisure Centre in Leyton, London, followed by food, drinks and networking at Leyton Orient FC. Designed as a fun and sociable team event, the tournament will offer businesses an opportunity to bring colleagues and clients together while raising funds for Coach Core’s work helping disadvantaged young people develop skills and access employment. The Pickleball Cup will be followed by Coach Core’s annual Sports Day on Thursday 23 September 2027 at Rosslyn Park in Barnes, London. Both events are open to teams of eight, offering organisations the chance to combine team building and networking with charitable fundraising. Coach Core supports young people facing barriers to employment through sport-based apprenticeships, helping participants develop confidence, professional skills and pathways into meaningful careers. With more than one million young people currently not in education, employment or training, the Foundation is encouraging businesses to get involved and support its work. Gary Laybourne, Co-Founder and CEO of the Coach Core Foundation, said: “Our Pickleball Cup and Sports Day are more than team events. “They bring businesses together and help build relationships while creating opportunities for young people facing barriers to employment.” Early bird offer for participating teams To encourage participation in both events, Coach Core is offering a special early bird discount. Teams entering the Pickleball Cup will receive 10% off their entry to Sports Day 2027. Each event normally costs £1,750 per team of eight. The offer is available until 22 November 2026, with limited places available. Businesses interested in taking part can contact fundraising@coachcore.org.uk for further information and to secure their places.
