STAR Asset Finance Group has announced that all four of its businesses have joined the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB), reinforcing its commitment to professional standards across the UK commercial finance sector.

First Capital Finance, Credo Capital Finance, Ignition Credit and Kennet Leasing have all become NACFB members, strengthening the Group’s position within the commercial finance broking community.

The announcement follows a period of significant milestones for STAR, which surpassed £3bn in total funding provided to UK small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) since its formation in 2014.

Membership of the NACFB, the trade association representing the UK’s commercial finance broking industry, demonstrates STAR’s commitment to recognised standards of professionalism, transparency and accountability in its relationships with customers, lenders and funding partners.

STAR Asset Finance Group brings together four established regional finance businesses: Kennet Leasing in Birmingham, Ignition Credit in Cornwall, First Capital Finance in Bournemouth and Credo Capital Finance in Norwich.

Together, the businesses provide a range of funding solutions, including asset finance, business loans and vehicle finance, combining lending from the Group’s own balance sheet with access to a panel of specialist funders.

STAR supports businesses across a broad range of sectors, including construction, agriculture, marine, hospitality, education, transport and renewable energy.

The Group also operates vendor finance partnerships with manufacturers and suppliers, alongside continued investment in technology to streamline applications and improve the customer experience.

Jason Hurwitz, Group Chief Executive Officer at STAR Asset Finance, said:

“The NACFB sets the benchmark for best practice in commercial finance broking, and we’re delighted that all four STAR companies are now standing with them.

“It’s been a proud few months for the Group. Passing £3 billion in funding and being named Asset Finance Broker of the Year are a testament to our people, who have built this deal by deal over many years.”

Hurwitz highlighted the importance of combining efficient access to finance with specialist knowledge of individual industries.

“Behind those numbers are thousands of UK businesses, from builders and farmers to hauliers, schools and hospitality operators. SMEs need speed and simplicity, but they also want genuine expertise and confidence that someone understands what’s at stake.

“That’s what we offer, and we look forward to playing a collaborative role within the NACFB community, working with brokers to help UK businesses thrive.”
