Allica Bank received the Excellence in Technology Award, sponsored by VIP Apps Consulting Limited. The Excellence in Technology Award recognises an organisation that has successfully harnessed technology to improve customer outcomes, drive innovation and enhance operational efficiency. This year’s winner, Allica Bank, was recognised for its continued investment in digital capabilities that simplify the lending journey while maintaining the high levels of service that brokers and customers expect. For Brandon Hall, Head of Sales – Broker Asset Finance at Allica Bank, the award reflects the bank’s commitment to investing in technology that delivers real value. “This award recognises the investment we’ve made in technology that genuinely improves the customer experience,” he said. “Our focus has always been on using technology to remove friction and make banking simpler, faster and more intuitive. “But technology is only part of the story. When you combine powerful technology with experienced, dedicated people, you create a much better experience for customers.” Hall said one of the biggest benefits of the bank’s technology strategy is the speed and efficiency it brings to the lending process. “One of the biggest benefits is the time it saves,” he explained. “By reducing manual data entry and identifying missing documents or incomplete information within minutes, we can keep applications moving without unnecessary delays. That means a smoother experience for customers and turnaround times that are measured in hours rather than days.” Looking ahead, Hall believes artificial intelligence will have the greatest impact on the asset finance sector. “Without doubt, artificial intelligence,” he said. “We’re only scratching the surface of what’s possible. AI has enormous potential to improve automation, streamline servicing and help the team spend more time on the interactions where human expertise adds the most value.” Customer feedback also plays a central role in shaping Allica Bank’s technology roadmap. “Customer feedback is one of our most important sources of insight. We take it very seriously,” Hall said. “We run two broker surveys every year, and I personally read through the verbatim comments to identify recurring themes and opportunities to improve. Listening to customers is central to how we continue to develop our products and services.” Over the next 12 months, the bank will continue to enhance its platform while expanding its offering for brokers and SMEs. “We’re continuing to invest in making our platform even easier to use,” Hall said. “That includes enhancing our administration capabilities and expanding our product offering, while keeping the focus on making life simpler for brokers and their clients.” Reflecting on the Finance Connect Summer Awards evening, Hall praised the event for recognising excellence across the industry. “The Finance Connect Summer Awards are always one to look forward to,” he said. “They strike the right balance between celebrating success and giving people across the industry the chance to catch up in a relaxed setting. “It’s fantastic to see so many people recognised for the brilliant job they’re doing, and we’re proud to have been part of it.” Commenting on the award, Daypesh Patel, Managing Director of VIP Apps Consulting Limited, said technology innovation is ultimately driven by people. “Technological innovation comes down to the vision and teamwork of the people building it. In our industry, recognising excellence is vital because it honours the massive effort required to turn a great idea into real, practical value. “We are delighted to sponsor the Excellence in Technology Award, and congratulate Allica Bank. They are a truly deserving recipient, driving forward-thinking change and delivering the kind of digital maturity that pushes the entire sector forward. Their commitment to meaningful innovation sets a great benchmark for the future of finance.” Corporate Member Allica Bank Allica is a bank built especially for established businesses with between 5 and 250 employees.
