Volvo Financial Services appoints Ruy Meirelles to lead Latin America operations

Volvo Financial Services has appointed Ruy Meirelles as Senior Vice President for Latin America and President of Banco Volvo in Brazil, effective 1 August 2026.

In the role, Meirelles will oversee Volvo Financial Services’ operations across Brazil, Chile, Peru and Mexico, with full profit and loss responsibility for the region. His appointment as President of Banco Volvo remains subject to approval by the Central Bank of Brazil.

Meirelles succeeds Silvia Gerber, who will become President of Volvo Group Latin America from the same date.

A veteran of Volvo Financial Services, Meirelles has spent more than 17 years with the organisation in a range of senior finance and leadership positions across Latin America and Europe. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Finance for Europe, based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

During his career with VFS, he has also held roles including Vice President of Finance, Credit & Risk for Northern and Central Europe, Vice President of Finance for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, President of VFS Brazil and Chief Financial Officer for Latin America. He has additionally held financial leadership positions in Mexico and the United States.
