Alphabet secures top 15% spot for sustainable business practices

Business mobility provider Alphabet (GB) has been awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal for its sustainability performance, placing the company within the top 15% of over 100,000 organisations assessed worldwide.

EcoVadis, a global leader in sustainability ratings, evaluates companies on their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, with a particular focus on supply chain practices. Alphabet’s silver medal reflects its commitment to responsible business operations across four key areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

“To receive a silver medal on our first evaluation demonstrates the quality of our sustainable management systems and approach to sustainable topics,” said Natasha Foley, ESG Officer for Alphabet (GB) and BMW Financial Services (GB).

“It’s a significant milestone and serves as a motivator towards continuous improvement, while acknowledging team members’ achievements to inspire others to adopt similar practices.”

EcoVadis uses tailored questionnaires and industry-specific methodologies to ensure accurate and fair assessments. To qualify for a silver medal, companies must achieve consistently high scores across all four management pillars.

This recognition remains valid for 12 months, after which Alphabet will undergo a follow-up evaluation. Building on EcoVadis’ recommendations, the company has set its sights on achieving a gold rating in 2026 – a status reserved for the top 5% of companies globally.
