Shire Leasing has appointed Ben Roberts as its new Head of Vendor Finance, strengthening its senior leadership team as the business continues to support equipment suppliers across the UK.

Roberts joins Shire with more than 10 years’ experience in asset and vendor finance. He has previously held senior roles at Propel Finance and HH Business Finance, where his work focused on business development, vendor programme growth and partnership-based finance models.

In his new role, Roberts will be responsible for leading Shire’s vendor sales function and expanding its vendor finance offering, as suppliers increasingly seek more flexible and integrated funding options for customers.

Darren Fletcher, Sales Director at Shire Leasing, said the appointment would support the company’s ongoing growth.

“I am delighted to announce that Ben Roberts has joined Shire, bringing with him a wealth of experience from across the asset finance industry, particularly within the vendor finance space,” Fletcher said. “Ben’s expertise will play a key role as we continue to grow our presence and support even more SMEs across the UK.”

Roberts has worked closely with equipment suppliers across sectors including manufacturing, construction, technology and professional services. His experience in developing tailored finance strategies for vendors is expected to support Shire’s efforts to deepen existing partnerships and broaden its vendor programmes.

Commenting on his appointment, Roberts said he was looking forward to joining the business.

“I’m thrilled to join Shire Leasing PLC and lead such a talented vendor sales team,” he said. “Shire has built a strong reputation for delivering flexible finance solutions, and together we’ll continue building strong, long-standing partnerships and make it easy for vendors to offer their customers the finance options they need to thrive.”

The appointment comes as Shire places greater emphasis on its vendor finance proposition, with suppliers seeking to simplify purchasing decisions and shorten sales cycles. Roberts will play a central role in expanding vendor programmes and supporting suppliers as competition in the market continues to increase.
