Sean Read appointed as Director at The Broker Hub

The Broker Hub has announced the appointment of Sean Read as Director, strengthening its leadership capability as the platform continues to scale its Incubator, Accelerator, and Partner programmes.

Sean Read brings over 40 years’ experience in financial services, having operated at C-suite and board level across a broad range of lending products and market environments. A Chartered Banker and Chartered Director, he has held SMF18 and SMF24 Approved Person roles and has worked within multiple ownership structures, including private equity-backed management buyouts.

His background spans credit, risk, and operational leadership, with deep experience guiding businesses from scale-up through to exit. Most recently, Sean led the successful run-off and de-banking of a small bank following acquisition, delivering a complex transformation programme aligned to regulatory and strategic objectives.

A Career Built on Execution and Outcomes

Across his career, Sean has played a central role in several landmark businesses and transactions:

At Syscap, he was a key member of the private equity-backed management buyout team, helping shape the business through a period of significant growth.

Following Syscap’s sale to Wesleyan Bank, Sean became Managing Director, overseeing integration and ongoing performance.

He later joined the Executive of Hampshire Trust Bank after Wesleyan was acquired, contributing to governance and strategic oversight at group level.

In 2025, Sean chose to leave Hampshire Trust Bank to renew his long-standing professional partnership with Philip White, joining The Broker Hub at a pivotal stage of its development.
