Royal Enfield launches ‘Ready to Ride’ training school and finance scheme

Royal Enfield has launched a new initiative aimed at supporting beginner motorcyclists in the UK, combining rider training with an all-inclusive finance package designed to reduce the upfront cost of getting on two wheels.

The programme, called “Ready to Ride”, has been developed in partnership with CA Auto Finance UK and will see fleets of the new Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 supplied to selected UK rider training schools.

The first six motorcycles have already been delivered and are now in use by trainee riders at three partner schools: Drayton Croft Motorcycles, Kings Two Wheel Centre and Cooperb. Additional bikes are expected to be rolled out as the programme expands.

At the centre of the initiative is an all-in-one monthly payment plan that covers the motorcycle, accessories, riding apparel and the cost of obtaining an A2 motorcycle licence. The scheme aims to make motorcycling more accessible for people who might otherwise struggle with the initial costs of training, equipment and purchasing a bike.

CA Auto Finance UK, which trades as Royal Enfield Finance and is part of the Crédit Agricole Auto Bank Group, developed the finance package and has begun offering it through participating Royal Enfield dealers.

Davide Mamdouh Nageh, marketing manager at CA Auto Finance UK, said the collaboration was designed to simplify the path into motorcycling.

“We recognise that the upfront costs of motorcycling – from licensing to gear – can be a real barrier, especially for new riders,” he said. “Through our partnership with Royal Enfield, we’ve created a flexible solution that brings these elements into one simple, manageable monthly payment.”

He added that the scheme is intended to “remove complexity and deliver value across our network”, helping a new generation of riders access Royal Enfield motorcycles.

The Guerrilla 450 roadster has been chosen for the training fleets due to its approachable performance and ergonomics. Built around Royal Enfield’s Sherpa 450cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, the bike produces around 40bhp and 40Nm of torque, offering a balance of manageable power and everyday usability suited to new riders.

Its lightweight chassis, upright riding position and 780mm seat height are designed to provide confidence and control in a training environment, whether navigating city traffic or learning cornering skills.

George Cheeseman of Royal Enfield UK said the initiative reflects the brand’s commitment to developing grassroots motorcycling.

“The Guerrilla 450 is a fantastic motorcycle that perfectly embodies the spirit of ‘pure motorcycling’,” he said. “By providing these bikes to our partner riding schools and leveraging the financial expertise of CA Auto Finance through the ‘Ready to Ride’ scheme, we are helping to create a new generation of motorcyclists who start their journey on a fun, stylish and user-friendly motorcycle.”

The new programme forms part of Royal Enfield’s broader effort to support rider development in the UK, building on initiatives such as its Slide School training programme, the Build Train Race series and partnerships with groups including the British Army’s Motorised Adventure community.

By integrating training, equipment and financing into a single package, the company hopes the Ready to Ride scheme will lower the barriers to entry and encourage more people to take up motorcycling.
