Novuna team cycles 250 miles across Europe to raise over £10,000 for charity

A team of 13 colleagues from Novuna has completed a 250-mile charity cycle across Europe, raising more than £10,000 for two charities while demonstrating the company’s commitment to teamwork, community and social impact.

The four-day challenge took the team from Dunkirk in northern France, through Belgium and back again, covering 250 miles after crossing the English Channel from Dover. Battling soaring temperatures, early starts and physical exhaustion, the cyclists spent more than 17.5 hours in the saddle, travelling through three countries and collectively recording an impressive six million steps.

The challenge raised £11,269.50, including match funding from Novuna, with proceeds supporting My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and The Fountain Centre at the Royal Surrey Hospital.

My Name’5 Doddie Foundation funds research into motor neurone disease while providing support for those living with the condition. The Fountain Centre offers vital services to cancer patients and their families from diagnosis onwards.

The cyclists represented teams from across Novuna’s business, including finance, operations, sales and credit, supported throughout the journey by a dedicated crew that kept the riders fuelled and motivated.

Martin Thundercliffe, Senior Credit Analyst and one of the cyclists, added: “One of the best experiences of my life – it was challenging but incredibly rewarding. What stood out most was the team spirit. We supported each other every step of the way and really made the most of the experience, both on and off the bike.

“The encouragement we received from colleagues back home kept us going, and I wouldn’t hesitate to do it all again.”

The Novuna Charity Cycle 2026 reflects the business’s ongoing commitment to supporting charitable causes while bringing colleagues together through shared challenges. Following the success of this year’s event, plans are already underway to make next year’s fundraising challenge even bigger.
