How Allica Bank is creating an AI-first lender

Share

How do lenders move from AI experimentation to becoming truly AI-first businesses?

That question will take centre stage at the Tech Stream Plenary during the forthcoming Finance Connect UK Summer Conference 2026 on Thursday 4 June 2026 at Kings Place, London.

The session, “How Allica Bank is creating an AI-first lender”, brings together senior technology leaders to explore what genuine AI transformation looks like in practice, and what the wider specialist lending industry can learn from it.

The discussion features Niv Subramanian, Allica’s deputy chief executive, alongside Andrew Flegg, chief technology officer of Alfa, Murad Baig of Nexus IQ, and Colin Tovey of Resilient Management Solutions.

Moderated by Richard Huston of Vamos, the session will examine how Allica is approaching organisation-wide AI adoption, creating an AI-first enterprise, and developing complex agentic AI systems capable of operating in production without human intervention.

The panel will also explore one of the biggest challenges facing financial services AI deployment: how firms move beyond proof-of-concept projects to accurate, scalable and trusted operational systems.

  • Learn how Allica approached organisation-wide AI adoption — and why they treat it as a distribution problem rather than a technology one
  • Find out what it means in practice to build an AI-first enterprise, and how the role of the human expert changes when AI does the work
  • Explore the accuracy challenge at the heart of complex agentic systems — and what it takes to cross the threshold from proof of concept to production

The Tech Stream forms part of the wider conference agenda covering business lending, consumer lending and technology across asset finance, auto finance, equipment finance and receivables finance.
