Haydock Finance has strengthened its position in the materials handling sector with the appointment of James Richardson as Business Development Manager.

Richardson joins the specialist team with more than a decade of experience in SME finance, bringing a strong track record in relationship management and commercial lending. In his new role, he will work closely with Tim Edwards, head of materials handling, to expand Haydock’s reach and deepen its partnerships across the materials handling market.

Speaking on his appointment, Richardson highlighted the company’s relationship-driven approach as a key factor in his decision to join. “Haydock’s strong commercial focus and commitment to relationship building made joining an easy decision,” he said. “I’m excited to help develop the materials handling offering, working closely with introducers to drive growth and deliver long-term, collaborative success.”

The hire comes at a time of notable success for Haydock’s materials handling division. According to Edwards, the team has just delivered its strongest quarter since launching in January 2025, achieving record levels of proposals received and deals paid out, while maintaining an impressive 90% approval rate.

“We’re proud to report our best performance to date,” Edwards said. “We’re delighted James has joined the team. His commercial acumen, sales drive and commitment to service excellence will help strengthen our positioning in this market.”
