grenke has appointed Suzy Watkins as Managing Director of Administration in the UK, as the business continues to strengthen its operational leadership team.

Watkins, who joined grenke in 2023 as Head of Administration, steps into the role following the retirement of Robin Spurr, who has been with the company since 2007 and served as Managing Director since 2013.

Bringing experience from venture capital and asset management firms including Benchmark Capital and Fidelity Investments, Watkins has built a strong track record in operational leadership and relationship management.

In her new position, she will lead grenke’s UK administration function, focusing on enhancing operational processes, advancing digitisation and ensuring consistent service delivery. She will also work to strengthen collaboration across the business and continue developing the firm’s customer service model, building on initiatives such as the launch of the UK Customer Care team.

Watkins will work closely with David Horton, Managing Director of Sales, as the business looks to support its SME customer base and drive further growth in the UK market.

Isabel Tufet Bayona, Chief Operating Officer at grenke AG, said the appointment reflects the company’s long-term ambitions.

“I’m delighted to appoint Suzy to lead grenke’s administration function, bringing her exceptional expertise in administration, operations and legal processes, combined with her proven leadership within the UK business to the role,” she said.

“With a clear 2030 strategy and a strong leadership team, Suzy will be key to taking our ambitious plans forward as we continue to invest in solutions that genuinely support SMEs and strengthen our position in the UK market.”

Watkins said she was looking forward to building on the foundations already in place.

“It’s a privilege to take on this role. I’m stepping in with huge respect for the foundations Robin has built, and I’m excited to take them forward,” she said.

“My focus will be on strengthening collaboration, modernising our processes and creating a culture where people feel empowered to deliver their best work—which I believe is at the heart of grenke’s ethos.”
