Foundation Solutions HV has introduced an electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme with Fleet Alliance, expanding its employee benefits package while supporting the transition to electric mobility.

Headquartered in New Cumnock, East Ayrshire, Foundation Solutions HV (FSHV) is a multi-disciplined civil engineering contractor serving the renewable and traditional energy sectors. Since its launch in 2020, the company has grown rapidly and now employs around 80 skilled operatives across multiple sites throughout the UK.

The new scheme provides employees with access to electric vehicles through a corporate salary sacrifice programme for the first time. Staff can choose from a wide range of new and used EVs, with models from Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Jaecoo, Peugeot, Renault, MG and Kia among those already selected.

Carol McPhee, Finance and Audit Manager at FSHV, said the scheme offers significant financial benefits for employees while helping broaden the company’s benefits package.

“The new EV salary sacrifice scheme is particularly advantageous from a tax viewpoint for our highly skilled employees,” she said.

“We have been very impressed since engaging Fleet Alliance to provide a salary sacrifice benefit for all our staff as they have been able to put together a scheme focused on electric cars that completely meets our needs.

“I attended an open day with a colleague at Fleet Alliance’s headquarters in Glasgow where they demonstrated all the benefits of an EV salary sacrifice scheme and had some electric demonstrators for us to try. This firmly convinced us to go ahead with the scheme.”

FSHV has supported the rollout with regular employee communications covering the benefits of salary sacrifice, electric driving and EV technology. The company said uptake has been further encouraged through positive word-of-mouth among employees, while early termination insurance, included within the monthly lease costs, has provided additional reassurance.

The scheme will be managed through Fleet Alliance’s cloud-based e-Fleet platform, enabling employees to research, compare and order vehicles based on their salary grade while viewing Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) liabilities, specifications and whole-life costs.

The platform also provides mileage recording and fleet reporting capabilities, allowing the company to monitor vehicle usage, manage servicing schedules and ensure contract compliance.

Andy Bruce, Chief Executive of Fleet Alliance, said salary sacrifice schemes are becoming an increasingly attractive option for businesses of all sizes looking to offer employee benefits while encouraging EV adoption.

“As FSHV clearly demonstrates, our scheme is a great way to offer an electric car at no extra cost to employees of businesses of all sizes. It’s the perfect way of introducing a corporate car scheme for the first time and promote electric cars,” he said.

“Employees can save up to 60% on every electric car available when compared to an equivalently configured personal lease deal. And it really is a no-hassle way to enjoy the latest electric cars as all servicing, maintenance, tyre replacement and motor insurance is included as part of an all-inclusive package.

“And to keep rentals as low as possible, we competitively tender every new car order to a panel of leading lenders which ensures FSHV employees enjoy the lowest possible cost.”
