DLL, the global provider of asset-based financial solutions, has announced the appointment of Tom van Zalen as its new Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and a member of the company’s Executive Board.

Van Zalen will take up the role on 22 January 2026, assuming global responsibility for DLL’s Risk and Compliance domains.

He joins DLL from Dutch neobank Knab, where he served as Chief Risk Officer and Executive Board member. Prior to that, van Zalen held the position of Head of Credit Risk Management at ING Netherlands. His career spans senior leadership roles across both financial and non-financial risk functions, giving him broad experience within the financial services sector.

Mark Pensaert, Chairman of the DLL Supervisory Board, said van Zalen’s background and leadership style made him a strong fit for the organisation’s next phase of development.

“Tom’s broad risk expertise, innovation mindset and collaborative, people-centric leadership style will add value as DLL continues to evolve its Risk and Compliance functions,” Pensaert said.

Lara Yocarini, CEO and Chair of DLL’s Executive Board, also welcomed the appointment, highlighting its importance in supporting the company’s long-term strategy.

“We are confident that Tom will be a great addition to our DLL Executive Board as we deliver on our ambition of customer-centric, smart growth,” she said. “We very much look forward to welcoming him and working together to achieve our ambitions.”
