Business Development Manager – Commercial Finance – Midlands

£40,000–£50,000 basic + uncapped commission (OTE £100,000+).

Our client is one of the UK’s fastest-growing SME lenders and brokers. They combine direct lending with brokerage to give UK businesses fast, flexible funding, and have won national recognition for their growth. Following continued expansion, they’re investing heavily in their sales team and are recruiting five experienced Business Development Managers.

The Role
This is a full-cycle, new business role. You won’t be handed appointments. You’ll generate your own opportunities, run the whole sales process and close your own deals. You’ll own your pipeline, so your earnings come down to your own performance.

Key responsibilities:

• Building your own pipeline through proactive, high-volume outbound activity
• Engaging business owners and senior decision-makers
• Understanding clients’ businesses and identifying their funding needs
• Qualifying opportunities and structuring the right funding solution across business loans, asset finance, invoice finance, bridging and more
• Handling objections, negotiating and closing
• Consistently meeting and exceeding activity and revenue targets

About You:

• Proven experience selling commercial finance products such as business loans, asset finance, invoice finance or bridging, ideally within a broker or lender
• A self-generator who is confident on the phone and comfortable with cold calling
• Commercially driven, resilient and motivated by targets and earnings
• Organised, with strong pipeline management and follow-up discipline
• Credible and confident when speaking with business owners
