Fleet Finance Sponsored by Fleet Finance News Asset Alliance Group supplies new reefers and artics to boost CS2 Transport fleet Published: 1st December 2025 Share Temperature-controlled logistics specialist CS2 Transport has expanded and modernised its fleet with the addition of three new DAF XG 530 tractor units and seven Chereau multi-temperature semi-trailers, supplied on contract hire by Asset Alliance Group. The new vehicles, delivered on multi-year agreements, include full repair and maintenance support, tyres and roadside assistance. The latest deal builds on CS2 Transport’s existing relationship with Asset Alliance Group, which supplied four identical DAF XG 530 tractor units to the business in 2023. Kevin Ford, Operations Director at CS2 Transport, said reliability is critical to the company’s round-the-clock operation. “We run 24-7, stopping only for Christmas Day, working with major supermarkets, food manufacturers and food service providers on a demanding schedule,” he said. “It’s vital we have a flexible, reliable vehicle fleet that won’t let us down. “Asset Alliance Group were straight-talking throughout the process, competitive, and able to deliver what we needed hassle-free. National Key Account Manager Jim Agnew was so helpful throughout the deal, and we know we can reach him quickly if there’s ever an issue.” CS2 Transport prefers contract hire for funding its modern fleet, allowing the business to operate high-spec vehicles through a simple monthly payment structure. All semi-trailers and refrigerated rigids in the fleet are multi-temperature. The latest Chereau trailers, fitted with Carrier Vector HE 19 refrigeration units, support the company’s ability to handle ambient, chilled, frozen and finished goods nationwide. The DAF XG 6×2 artics offer large, comfortable cabs featuring air-sprung driver seats and ‘Xtra Comfort’ mattresses, reflecting the company’s focus on high-quality equipment and professional driver welfare. Ford added that the administrative process behind the latest deal “went very smoothly,” enabling him to stay focused on operational demands. Based in Chesterfield, CS2 Transport operates a 60-vehicle fleet ranging from Mercedes-Benz Sprinters to 26-tonne trucks with tail-lifts, as well as tractor units and semi-trailers. The business also runs a BRCGS Grade AA-accredited cold store, cross-dock operation and blast-freezing facility.
