Allied Business Finance surpasses £100m origination milestone

Allied Business Finance (ABF) has surpassed £100m in finance origination just over two years after launching, having supported 665 businesses with funding since spring 2024.

The Scottish-based independent asset finance brokerage was founded by six experienced finance professionals – Ian Thain, Rob Murray, Conor Fitzsimmons, Brian Kilpatrick, Willie Smith and Duncan Murray – and provides funding solutions to businesses across the UK through a panel of lending partners.

The £100m milestone comes just months after ABF celebrated its second anniversary and reflects the brokerage’s growth since entering the market.

Rob Murray, Director at ABF, said: “Surpassing £100m in finance origination just over two years after launching ABF is a fantastic milestone for all of us.

“We set out to build a business around our experience, our relationships and the way we wanted to work with our customers and funding partners, so to have reached this level of origination so quickly is a real reflection of the trust people have placed in us.”

ABF specialises in asset finance solutions designed to support business growth, equipment purchases and operational investment, with the brokerage developing relationships with customers and lenders across a range of UK sectors.

The company said its growth had been supported by its focus on personal service and providing businesses with access to multiple funding options through its lender panel.

The £100m milestone also marks the next stage in ABF’s development as it enters its third year of trading and looks to expand its customer and lender relationships further.

Conor Fitzsimmons, Director at ABF, said: “We’re a close-knit team with a huge amount of experience between us, and that has given us a strong foundation to build something we can be proud of.

“The £100m is a significant milestone, but it’s also a marker of how far we’ve come rather than where we want to finish. We’re still a young business, and we’re excited about the opportunities ahead and continuing to build on what we’ve created.”
