The annual event, held on Thursday 22 October at The Royal Over-Seas League in London, brought together industry professionals to compete on behalf of their chosen charities, with this year’s reformatted quiz rounds designed to give every team a chance of winning. Led by team captain Brandon Hall, Allica claimed first place and the coveted Rivermore Asset Finance Trophy, earning £10,000 for Andy’s Man Club, a men’s suicide prevention charity providing free peer-to-peer support groups across the UK. Novuna Business Finance finished in second place, securing £4,800 for Alzheimer’s Society, including an additional AFPA Trust Charity Partner bonus. Third place went to the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB), which won £1,575 for the Sam West Foundation, including its Charity Partner bonus. The evening also featured the Heads N Tails competition, which raised a further £1,300 for Air Ambulances UK, including a bonus from AFPA Trust Charity Partner Paragon SME Lending. In total, the four prizes generated £17,675 in charitable donations, supporting organisations working across mental health, dementia, suicide prevention and emergency medical services. Robert Taylor, co-chair of the AFPA Trust BIG Quiz, said: “It was a great night, with fantastic energy in the room and smiling faces all around. “It was wonderful to see so many people from across the industry coming together, enjoying some friendly competition and, most importantly, raising money for charities that make such a difference.” The AFPA Trust BIG Quiz has become an established event in the industry’s fundraising calendar, combining networking and friendly competition with the opportunity for teams to support causes close to their hearts.
