Fleet Finance News NG Bailey accelerates fleet transformation with Webfleet platform Published: 23rd July 2026 Share NG Bailey has partnered with Webfleet to support a major transformation of its fleet operations, with early trials delivering improvements in safety, fuel efficiency, sustainability and vehicle performance. The engineering and infrastructure services company, which operates a fleet of more than 600 light commercial vehicles across the UK, is deploying Bridgestone’s advanced fleet management solution as part of a wider programme to enhance operational performance while supporting its long-term sustainability ambitions. During pilot trials, the Webfleet platform helped NG Bailey reduce CO₂ emissions by improving fuel economy by 3% and cutting wasted fuel by 25%. Lee Jackson, Group Fleet Manager at NG Bailey, said the investment was about much more than introducing telematics technology. “Our investment in Webfleet is about much more than telematics. It is helping us create a safer working environment for our colleagues, improve operational performance and make more informed decisions about the future of our fleet,” he said. “The platform supports NG Bailey’s long-standing ‘Safety First & Foremost’ culture, but equally important is giving our managers and drivers better information, reducing unnecessary administration and supporting our journey towards a more sustainable fleet.” The rollout includes Webfleet’s OptiDrive 360 driver performance monitoring system, which provides real-time visibility of driving behaviour to support coaching and driver development. According to NG Bailey, the pilot programme resulted in a 25% reduction in harsh driving events, a 26% fall in speeding incidents, a 5% reduction in engine idling and a 35% decrease in camera-triggered safety incidents. Integrated AI-enabled safety cameras are also helping to improve driver protection by identifying high-risk behaviours and providing objective evidence when incidents occur. “This helps us protect our drivers, challenge fraudulent claims and ensures we can make fair, informed decisions based on facts,” Jackson added. The technology is also strengthening vehicle maintenance through NG Bailey’s fleet management partner, Zenith. Automated vehicle inspections, fault reporting and maintenance alerts are enabling issues to be identified earlier, reducing downtime and helping keep vehicles roadworthy. Danni Fearon, Strategic Programme Lead at Zenith, said: “By identifying issues earlier and using real-time vehicle data, we can reduce disruption, improve maintenance planning and maximise vehicle availability for operational teams.” Beyond operational improvements, NG Bailey is using the platform’s vehicle utilisation, mileage and route data to assess where electric vehicles can be introduced successfully as part of its fleet decarbonisation strategy. Live vehicle tracking, digital driver identification and utilisation reporting are also helping to improve workforce planning, fleet utilisation and customer service across multiple business divisions. Jackson said collaboration between the three organisations had been key to the programme’s success. “One of the most important aspects of this programme has been the partnership approach. Webfleet has worked alongside NG Bailey and Zenith to understand our long-term objectives and help shape a solution that delivers real value. Together we are building a safer, smarter and more sustainable fleet that supports both our people and our customers.” Alex Crane-Robinson, Regional Director UK & Ireland at Webfleet, added: “By combining driver safety, vehicle compliance, operational efficiency and sustainability into a single connected platform, NG Bailey is creating a future-ready fleet capable of supporting its ambitious business objectives.” Lisa Laverick Editor - Finance Connect Sign up to our newsletter Featured Stories NewsLeasys raises €750m in seventh public bond issuance under EMTN programme NewsNew cabinet could revisit ZEV Mandate and eVED NewsLiquid Fleet reports 28% fleet growth as demand for short-term leasing rises Fleet Finance
