BCRS Business Loans has appointed Rachel Davies as its new head of credit.

Davies brings more than 30 years of experience in the finance sector, having held senior roles with NatWest and Barclays, where she supported local businesses with their funding requirements.

In her new position, Davies will be responsible for sanctioning lending decisions while working closely with the business development and wider teams to help BCRS Business Loans continue supporting businesses that are unable to secure finance through traditional lending channels.

Commenting on her appointment, Davies said: “I am excited to be joining BCRS Business Loans, having seen in my previous roles how they support businesses to grow and strengthen local communities. Their commitment to helping small businesses access finance where others have been unable to really stood out to me.”

Chief executive Stephen Deakin said the appointment comes as the organisation continues to experience strong demand from businesses seeking alternative sources of finance.

“Rachel’s appointment comes at an important time for BCRS Business Loans as we continue to see strong demand from businesses across the West Midlands and Wales that are struggling to access finance through mainstream channels,” he said.

“Her experience, combined with a genuine understanding of what smaller businesses need to grow, make her a fantastic addition to the team. I’m confident Rachel will play a vital role in helping us make lending decisions that support local businesses and the wider regional economy.”
