Yorkshire-based TSL Vanguard Ltd and Specialist Trailer Hire Ltd (STH) have secured a £3.75 million funding package from NatWest to expand their operations and meet growing customer demand.

The package includes a £2.75 million Royal Bank of Scotland Invoice Finance (RBSIF) facility and a £1 million loan, which will be used to acquire additional premises in Leeds and Rotherham. The investment is aimed at boosting capacity, increasing storage space, and creating new employment opportunities in the region.

Founded in 1968, the family-run firms operate together to provide haulage, logistics, warehousing, and vehicle hire services across Yorkshire and beyond. The expansion will also allow the companies to bring more specialist roles in-house, reducing reliance on third-party providers.

Specialist Trailer Hire manages commercial vehicle hire, maintenance, and long-term rentals, while TSL Vanguard focuses on general haulage and warehousing. Together, the businesses operate a fleet of more than 1,000 trailers.

Managing Director Mark Liversidge said the investment represents a “significant milestone” for the companies’ growth ambitions:

“Securing this funding marks a significant milestone for both TSL Vanguard and Specialist Trailer Hire. The funding will enable us to invest in the space and infrastructure required for continued growth.”

Mark Forsyth, Senior Relationship Manager at NatWest, added: “Both businesses have a strong track record and a clear vision for the future.

“We’re looking forward to continuing our work together and helping to enable their continued growth within the region, whether that’s through funding packages or the specialist knowledge, networks and expertise we can offer for businesses”.

The companies are also continuing to invest in fleet upgrades to reduce emissions, reflecting a commitment to environmental responsibility.
