Volvo Financial Services (VFS) has appointed Jörgen Sjöstedt as Senior Vice President for its Europe North & Central region.

Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, Sjöstedt will assume full profit and loss responsibility for the region. His remit covers a broad geographic footprint, including Austria & Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.

The appointment signals VFS’ continued focus on strengthening relationships across the Volvo Group ecosystem. Sjöstedt will work closely with internal teams, business area partners, dealers, and customers to support growth and enhance the uptake of VFS’ financial services offerings.

VFS President Marcio Pedroso said Sjöstedt’s experience and leadership style make him well-suited for the role. “Jörgen’s broad product and commercial experience, as well as his talent for developing strong relationships, will help us accomplish our goals within the region,” he said, adding that the business expects him to have a positive impact.

Sjöstedt brings more than three decades of experience within the Volvo Group. He began his career in purchasing at Volvo Trucks before moving into product management and commercial roles at Volvo Buses.

In 2018, he was appointed managing director for Volvo Group Peru, where he represented multiple business areas and oversaw the introduction of VFS into the Peruvian market. More recently, he served as Senior Vice President for Europe South & West at Volvo Trucks, managing operations across major markets including France, Italy, Spain, and the UK.

Commenting on his new role, Sjöstedt emphasised the importance of financial services in enabling customer success. “VFS plays a key role in helping customers acquire the vehicles and machines they need to keep their businesses moving forward,” he said. “That has never been more true than in today’s evolving world.”
