Technology UBench joins SOFICO to enhance auto finance solution Published: 15th July 2025 Share SOFICO, a global provider of contract management software for automotive finance, leasing, and mobility companies, has announced the acquisition of UBench, a provider of B2B SaaS claims and damage management solutions. The move expands SOFICO’s European footprint and strengthens its position in the automotive value chain by integrating complementary capabilities across the vehicle lifecycle. UBench will continue to operate under its own brand within the SOFICO group, maintaining product focus and business continuity while gaining access to SOFICO’s scale and market reach. The acquisition deepens SOFICO’s offering by incorporating vital claims and repair management expertise into its end-to-end software platform. Both companies boast strong customer bases in Europe, with shared clients including VW Financial Services, BMW Financial Services, Alphabet, and Ayvens. Their combined capabilities position SOFICO to deliver a more seamless, efficient, and responsive digital experience to fleet and leasing operators amid shifting regulatory and technological demands. “This strategic partnership is a purposeful alignment of vision, values, and expertise,” said Manuel Medinger, CEO of UBench. “Over the past months, I’ve come to know SOFICO as a partner who shares not only a deep market understanding, but also our culture of customer focus, pragmatism, and long-term thinking. Together, we’re stronger and better positioned to serve a rapidly evolving industry.” UBench was previously acquired by BASF in 2019, where it benefited from BASF Coatings’ industry network and aftermarket knowledge. BASF now sees the transfer of UBench to SOFICO as an opportunity to accelerate its growth trajectory in the claims management sector. “SOFICO is the ideal partner to advance UBench with its knowledge of the automotive aftermarket and the same customer focus,” said Chris Titmarsh, Senior Vice President Global Automotive Refinish at BASF Coatings. “We are proud of what we have developed at UBench together with a dedicated team and a strong network – and we look forward to seeing the platform flourish at SOFICO.” The deal comes as fleet operators and mobility providers across Europe face mounting pressure to streamline operations, reduce downtime, and comply with evolving regulatory and technological landscapes. Trends such as electrification, ADAS integration, and heightened data security requirements have made end-to-end platform integration not only valuable, but essential.
