Digitalisation Sponsored by Digitalisation Solifi and forgd reveal AI-driven engineering improvements Published: 15th July 2026 Share Solifi has partnered with applied AI consultancy forgd to demonstrate how embedded artificial intelligence can accelerate software engineering, with the companies reporting a 70% reduction in database calls and significant improvements in software testing within just three weeks. The findings, released jointly by the secured finance software provider and forgd, highlight the impact of an AI-assisted development approach that was embedded directly into Solifi’s engineering team as part of a broader technology modernisation programme. According to the companies, the initiative focused on strengthening the resilience and reliability of Solifi’s production systems while equipping engineers with AI-native development skills. Forgd’s specialists worked alongside Solifi developers to establish domain knowledge, identify untested code paths and introduce repeatable AI workflows across the software development lifecycle. By the end of the third week, Solifi’s engineering team was independently using Claude Code to continue development without external support. The programme also delivered a 70% reduction in database calls within a critical software module while addressing long-standing gaps in automated test coverage, improvements designed to enhance application performance and reliability. The companies said the project also addressed one of the key barriers to enterprise AI adoption, where coding tools are often embraced by a small group of early adopters but fail to achieve wider adoption across engineering teams. For organisations operating in secured finance, where platform resilience, regulatory compliance and uninterrupted service are essential, the ability to modernise systems without disrupting customers remains a significant challenge. Vinay Mehta, Chief Technology Officer at Solifi, said: “We moved from questioning whether AI-native development was real to embedding it into how we operate. “That shift took weeks, not the months or years a conventional approach would have demanded. Every engineering team is going to have to solve this, and Solifi is providing the roadmap on how to get this done.” Morten Bagai, Senior Vice President of AI Engineering at forgd, said successful AI adoption depends on making AI-assisted development the standard way of working across engineering teams. “Durable AI adoption happens when building with AI becomes the default for an entire engineering team,” he said. “We embedded with Solifi’s engineers in one-week sprints, transferred the know-how as we built, and in three weeks, they were building AI-native on their own.” Lisa Laverick Editor - Finance Connect Sign up to our newsletter Featured Stories DigitalisationGlobal leasing industry reaches $1.54 trillion, reports Solifi DigitalisationSolifi appoints Kevin Smith as Chief Legal Officer DigitalisationSolifi joins NACFB to expand support for UK commercial finance brokers
